About Us
At the Buvuma Island Charity Marathon, we believe in the power of sport to transform lives. Our mission is to support pregnant mothers in rural areas, specifically on Buvuma Island. Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase hospital beds, mama kits, and other essential resources to enhance maternal health.

Distances
Buvuma Island Charity Marathon 2024 will feature three distances including a virtual Marathon.

Full Marathon - 42KM
Half Marathon - 21KM
Fun Marathon - 8KM

Eligibility
Full marathon runners must be at least 18 years old on race day.
Half marathon runners must be at least 16 years old.
Fun Run participants must be at least 12 years old on race day.
Fun Run participants under the age of 12 are also welcome, so long as they are accompanied by a runner aged 18 or above.

Buvuma Island is in the heart of the Pearl of Africa, Uganda, right on the largest tropical lake in the world and the source of the Nile. That iss why you won't want to miss this extraordinary destination.
